It was a fresh- easygoing and simple start to ayurvedic nutrition。 Better than many other sources I checked out on this subject so far。

First off, you can see the problem I have with this book based on the other reviews。 Notice how they all comment how pretty it is? (Stunning is the word they tend to use)。 Yes, it is a pretty book, but if one is here to learn about ayurveda, perhaps we could devote that page space and print space to。。。teach about ayurveda? If you need a book to be 'pretty' for you to think it has value, well。。。that's a you problem。 It does have some good information but honestly, you get way more in another book First off, you can see the problem I have with this book based on the other reviews。 Notice how they all comment how pretty it is? If you need a book to be 'pretty' for you to think it has value, well。。。that's a you problem。 It does have some good information but honestly, you get way more in another book by the same author, the Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda, which has much fewer pictures, non all color flex-spreads about how beautiful her environment is。 The only thing this book has going for it is recipes and honestly, any ayurvedic cookbook would do the same, with more recipes。 WOW a recipe for kitchari? Never gonna find THAT anywhere else, right? *eyeroll*。 I am not saying Rose does not know her stuff。 She absolutely does。 Though, of course, feel free to question the cultural-appropriation factor of it all。 But she has clearly fallen into the money trap of wanting to monetize and remonetize the same content--the co author of Depak Chopra (Deep Pockets, to his friends) should make you view this askance。 It's not a bad book though: if you're looking for an ayurvedic cookbook, there are way better。 If you're looking for ayurveda information, there are way better。 If you are in the cult of Sahara Ketabi, even so, this is not her best book。 。。。more

Great book! It has an easy to understand first section on Ayurveda, then switches over to the cookbook portion。 So many great recipes to try! I am gluten, dairy, and soy free, and most of the recipes are already safe for me or can easily be modified。 Whole, healthy, yet delicious foods that I can't wait to make! I highly recommend this book! :) Great book! It has an easy to understand first section on Ayurveda, then switches over to the cookbook portion。 So many great recipes to try! I loved this book so much that I bought my own copy as a reference。 I loved the philosophy behind this method of eating, the doshas so well explained and what foods fit best with which dosha。 The recipes are excellent and easy to follow。 I also like the way the author has modernized the method of choosing foods for each dosha based on modern life and practicality。 For anyone wishing to follow a healthy diet for their lives I highly recommend this book。

This idea is a little too out there for me, although some of the recipes sound good--if you leave out the super fatty ingredients。 Sigh。。。

Enjoyed this book/cookbook after reading a lot about Ayurveda。 This was perfect for me since I abhor Indian food and am mostly vegan but would like to follow Ayurveda。 Many of these use traditional spices but most are suitable for those of us who do not enjoy coriander, curry, garam masala, etc。 I have tried about a dozen recipes so far and almost all of them are at least good, some are great。 As a warning at least half of these recipes are extremely tedious and time consuming and are only appro Enjoyed this book/cookbook after reading a lot about Ayurveda。 This was perfect for me since I abhor Indian food and am mostly vegan but would like to follow Ayurveda。 Many of these use traditional spices but most are suitable for those of us who do not enjoy coriander, curry, garam masala, etc。 I have tried about a dozen recipes so far and almost all of them are at least good, some are great。 As a warning at least half of these recipes are extremely tedious and time consuming and are only appropriate for someone who has many hours each day to cook。 And much like the majority of cooks and chefs, Ketabi forgets that sweets need salt too! 。。。more

What a beautiful, inspiring and interesting book。 I'm not a great cook, but I'm inspired to try all the recipes and I'm sure the benefits will be stupendous。 I'm vegan, so it's great to see so much inspiration。 Thanks Sahara。 What a beautiful, inspiring and interesting book。 I'm not a great cook, but I'm inspired to try all the recipes and I'm sure the benefits will be stupendous。 I'm vegan, so it's great to see so much inspiration。 Thanks Sahara。 。。。more

Beautiful photos, love the colors。 Presentation is over the top, but inspiring。 Not a simple Ayurveda cookbook。 The recipes I’ve dared to try are delicious。 This cookbook makes me happy to just leaf through。

I learned a lot about Ayurveda from this book。 I went on to read several other books about Ayurveda。 I love a lot of the recipes。 I basically make the grain-free naan on a weekly basis。 The only thing that I will say is that some of the ingredients are a little hard to find at your average grocery store。

Great book!

I liked the way Sahara focused on plant based food in this excellent book on Ayurveda。 The photography in the book is stunning and love all the colors - just a delight to read!

Extremly interesting book! Love that she not only explains in depth but also gives us various recipes!

I was heavily prejudiced against this book。 It looked too flash, too glib and a few decades too young for me。 But I've given it five stars now because I love it and am eternally grateful for it。Ayurveda is not an easy solution and - like Sahara Rose Ketabi - I have tried everything else。 But after struggling with digestive problems for a year, I too have to succumb。 In the meantime I'd bought two other books: Ayurveda by Geeta Vara, and The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook。 Both of these are helpful, I was heavily prejudiced against this book。 It looked too flash, too glib and a few decades too young for me。 But I've given it five stars now because I love it and am eternally grateful for it。Ayurveda is not an easy solution and - like Sahara Rose Ketabi - I have tried everything else。 But after struggling with digestive problems for a year, I too have to succumb。 In the meantime I'd bought two other books: Ayurveda by Geeta Vara, and The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook。 Both of these are helpful, in a way that an apple a day is helpful。 So now that I was ramping up my Ayurveda efforts (including cutting down coffee, a big deal), I felt I needed some more recipe ideas。 And then I remembered this book, and it arrived today。 And I love love love it! It's got the Ayurveda basics explained, but more importantly it has truly delicious, easy recipes。 Thankyou Sahara for making such a beautiful, attractive, lighthearted tool for a healthy life! 。。。more

So beautiful! The photography in this book is gorgeous。 Ketabi is a joy and she explains Ayurvedic principles in a way that is easy to digest (hehe)。 The recipes are not too complicated (perhaps if you're already into Ayurveda and have been collecting ingredients), and are modern and mouthwatering! This is an excellent introduction to a modern (vegan, alkaline) version of Ayurveda。 Accessible and delicious recipes from breakfast through to dessert。 I’ll be buying a copy now that my copy from the library has been renewed the max possible times and is due back!

A rally interesting book on intuitive eating too be sure。 However, I found the the types really confusing。 I had a really hard time understanding what my true dosha was and felt like I needed a companion book or future to guide me through。 The recipes are great though!

Great intro to Ayurvedic eating and cooking。

Another good Ayurveda starter guide from Ketabi, this one with plenty of recipes and lifestyle advice。

This was a gift from my partner’s mother。 I was apprehensive at first (not really knowing anything about Ayurveda)。 The first ~90 pages or so are all about Ayurveda, including a brief overview of its history and how the author has modernized and modified the ancient approach。 The recipes are absolutely delicious and creative — I’ve been obsessed with plant-based recipes for the last 6 months and most of these are unlike any I’ve encountered。 I’m also benefiting tremendously from learning about A This was a gift from my partner’s mother。 I was apprehensive at first (not really knowing anything about Ayurveda)。 The first ~90 pages or so are all about Ayurveda, including a brief overview of its history and how the author has modernized and modified the ancient approach。 The recipes are absolutely delicious and creative — I’ve been obsessed with plant-based recipes for the last 6 months and most of these are unlike any I’ve encountered。 I’m also benefiting tremendously from learning about Ayurveda, which offers a holistic approach to wellbeing。 As a result of reading this, I’ve changed my routines, increased time spent meditating, started a yoga practiced, and have become much more mindful about eating and am overall more in tune with my body。 Highly recommend to anyone willing to open themselves to the wisdom of an ancient practice! 。。。more

An awesome, beautiful designed and explained book about a contemporary approach to Ayurveda, the millenary Indian healing system。 The recipes are great, the pictures are wonderful, and how Sahara explains about how the Ayurveda works and can suit your body, just makes you wonder why you didn´t discover this before! A book to own, to consult, to read and reread, and of course, to learn!

Curiosity brought me to this particular cookbook。 I have over the years been tweaking and modifying my diet to assist in my body’s needs as it ages。 I was interested in learning more about the Ayurvedic way。 Ayurveda teaches that food is divine medicine with the power to heal。 It’s pretty straightforward and gives the reader another layer of how foods we eat interact with our bodies。 I am looking forward to making some of the recipes。 As a mostly plant based eater my pantry contains a lot of the Curiosity brought me to this particular cookbook。 I have over the years been tweaking and modifying my diet to assist in my body’s needs as it ages。 I was interested in learning more about the Ayurvedic way。 Ayurveda teaches that food is divine medicine with the power to heal。 It’s pretty straightforward and gives the reader another layer of how foods we eat interact with our bodies。 I am looking forward to making some of the recipes。 As a mostly plant based eater my pantry contains a lot of the ingredients these recipes call for。 If you are looking for more ways to eat better from a”healing”perspective try this book out。 。。。more

I was actually looking for a book with some potions recipes for gut health。 But this book actually made me change to a plant-based diet, where I actually enjoyed eating。 This book was easy to read and explained Ayurveda as if it were something cool that everyone should be doing, not as a boring practice of thousands years ago。
